One Week

In one week...

Camden and I joined the rest of the first-gators on a field trip to Ferry Farm and Kenmore.
Fun day!

Jake presented his research project - on hyenas - at the county-wide Focus Festival.
His Focus teacher is just about the most loving woman ever.

Jake and I joined the rest of the second-gators on a field trip to the Natural History Museum.
We got to watch a film with a gorilla.

Camden performed in class musical, "How Does Your Garden Grow?"
He was a weed.  A very cute weed.

The boys played three games and celebrated the end of an awesome baseball season.
Just in time for swim to start up.

Add in two photo shoots , lots of gardening, and a day in the ER and you've got an idea of what life's really like 'round these parts!

Thief

Our strawberry patch is doing great.
And we're not the only ones enjoying it, either.

Busted

Remember when I said we play a lot of baseball?
Proof.

The American Passtime

We take our baseball very seriously around here.
And we spend a lot of time playing the game.
Both on the field and in our own backyard.
This has several consequences...
1. I do a LOT of laundry.  I promise you, no sport gets you dirtier than baseball.
2. We are forever praying that those balls hit over the fence will continue to miss the neighbor's car.
3. My boys are REALLY good at baseball.

Cape Cod, I'll see you in about ten years.

PS. You may someday get to see pictures of Jake.  If he can snap out of the attitude he developed at team picture day.  There is one very definite reason my photo portfolio is not filled with pictures of my own children.

Shameless Bragging by the Mom

This boy wrote and gave the best talk ever today in primary.
By himself.
I think we may be growing up.

The Other End of the Spectrum

Since I've shown you our beautiful home-grown spinach (which, really, everybody eats right up!), I thought it only fitting that I show you another end of the food spectrum 'round these parts.

Last week, two boys and their Bubby planned the ultimate meal.  We ate hot dogs, cheetoes, doritoes, chips, and apple sauce.  Washed down with a tall chocolate  milkshake.  "The milkshake isn't dessert, Mommy.  It's the drink."  My boys were in heaven.

At least until this mean mom added green beans and ruined their perfect dinner experience.

You'll never guess.

Guess what our garden gave us?
And guess who's been eating it up like there's no tomorrow?

I'll give you a hint...
EVERYBODY.

(Yes, even Jake.)
